Born Again Courage (2nd) $700 at $11

Hard to believe but the ‘book’ actually lost money on the winner which was an outsider at 20 -1 and while we didn’t take any large wagers there were plenty of $20 wagers on the Greg & Nina Hope trained mare. Our worst result was Born Again Courage which closed at $8.00 after opening at $11. We opened the favourite Woodlea Fire at $3.50 (closed $3.20 tote) and he was heavily backed in multi-wagering.

All the late money came for Amazing Deal who closed at $6.00 after opening at $6.50 (closed tote $6.50) and she was our worst result over the winner Midnight In Paris who closed at $5.50 after opening at $7.00. The favourite Genes West (9th) closed at $3.00 ($2.90 tote) after opening at $3.50 and was easily the best backed in multi-wagering. We didn’t sell a ticket on Strathcarn and our customers were onto that runner as she was pulled up in the running.

Great Divide (7th) $1,000 at $6.00
